2017 Market Season

We hope everyone is happy to say goodbye to winter and hello to spring.   A new Market season is almost upon us – we will be having our first market on Friday, May 26th and we look forward to seeing everyone again this year!

The Market Manager is responsible for:


  • Respond to new vendor inquiries: dates, times, fees, regular vs occasional vendors, policies
  • Get detailed product information from each vendor prior to sending out application
  • Send out application forms to new and previous season vendors
  • Update website with new season information
  • Post to Facebook page

During the Friday Market:

  • Greet vendors attending first market, provide application form if necessary
  • Show vendors their location
  • Collect any application forms and weekly booth fees
  • Collect membership fee from each vendor at first market attended
  • Keep record of all fees collected
  • Reconcile weekly cash receipts, provide numbers to Board Treasurer
  • Provide Board of Directors Secretary with vendor members names
  • Keep updated list of vendors and their products
  • Be familiar with Food Safety Guidelines and Schedule A & B products
  • Check weekly individual vendor’s products against list of approved products
  • Put up and take down market sandwich board, traffic cones (if used), community group canopy
  • Check with each vendor at each market for problems, concerns
  • Provide Board with monthly vendor attendance
  • Resolve where possible disputes between vendors or vendors and Board
  • Note detailed information where disputes arise
  • Make Board aware of any problems
  • Create weekly website blog re: market vendors, specials, products available, events, etc. and Facebook page


  • Record total individual vendors for season
  • Record number of markets for each vendor and attendance pattern
  • Record which community groups attended and how often
  • Provide report to Board: numbers by categories, problems, successes of the season
  • Make suggestions to Board for improvements
  • Attend Board meetings when required
  • Carry out directives of the Board
